At Community Energy Colchester, we are dedicated to helping local people save energy and save money through our free energy saving advice sessions and visits. We can help improve energy efficiency, aiming to mitigate climate change and promote sustainable living.
As one of the many Community Energy groups in the UK, we are working towards creating more renewable energy projects led and owned by local people which directly benefit the local community. Locally owned renewable energy is a vital part of tackling the climate crisis, empowering communities and democratising energy in the UK.
Community Owned Solar: Let's Put Our Community in Charge
In partnership with Essex County Council Climate Commission we can support communities and parish councils in Colchester to build solar installations; working together to provide an ethical and affordable solution to our energy needs. We want to provide local people the opportunity to create, control and benefit from renewable energy, playing an active role in creating a more sustainable society. One of our key goals is to provide community owned solar on the rooftop of Colchester Hospital.
